IFF Health Announces Partnership with GenM to Deliver Customizable Supplement Solutions to Menopausal Women
LONDERZEEL — DATE — IFF Health continues to expand its presence in the women’s health market through a new partnership with GenM, the menopause partner for brands. GenM aims to unite responsible brands and organizations to improve the menopause experience, normalize the conversation, and support under-served menopausal consumers and employees.
It is estimated that one billion women worldwide will be going through menopause by 2025.1 IFF is committed to helping brand owners reach this audience, spread awareness and provide dietary supplements clinically demonstrated to help with a range of symptoms that often accompany menopause – including hot flushes, low energy, vaginal dryness, memory issues, constipation, bloating and dry skin.
GenM’s ground-breaking Opportunity Report identifies identified 48 different symptoms related to menopause, 51% of women can only name three.2 For food supplement brand owners looking to target this unmet need and provide solutions, addressing menopause holistically often requires a myriad of various nutritional ingredients to help reduce multiple symptoms. However, increased consumer interest in natural, effective products for menopause does not translate into a willingness to take multiple separate supplements.
“The probiotic and nutraceutical solutions IFF offers have long helped women at all stages of life,” said Vanessa Azevedo, regional marketing lead for dietary supplements, IFF Health. “To deliver on our promise and further empower menopausal women to take control of their holistic health, we’ve developed an innovative ingredient combination that brand owners can easily utilize for their next menopause supplement that’ll meet the demand that’s often overlooked.”
Known as Gaia, this new solution features a well-rounded list of carefully selected botanicals and probiotics that address some of the most common menopausal symptoms and concerns, including:
“Businesses and employers across the EU are beginning to take note and address the impact that menopause has on women, and it is with great pleasure we announce IFF’s partnership with GenM, an organization that shares our values,” said Maider Gutierrez, global health category leader, IFF Health. “At IFF, we’re constantly leveraging science and creativity for innovative vital solutions – this new concept, and partnership with GenM, is just one of the ways we’re working to raise awareness and improve the way people talk about, experience and address menopause.”
Heather Jackson, co-founder of GenM says, “We are delighted to welcome IFF to our growing collective of over 60 forward-thinking brands who are committed to taking menopause seriously. GenM research shows that 87% of menopausal women feel overlooked by brands and by society as a whole, whilst a huge 97% believe that brands should do more to cater to them. We believe that this market deserves to be provided for and, for responsible organizations, there is a purposeful and commercial opportunity to be made by doing just this.”
IFF offers a wide range of ingredients that can help with other critical menopause symptoms such as stress, urinary health, sleep, joint health, nail and skin changes, vaginal discomfort and weight management. They have a team of experts and unique capabilities to support brand owners in developing tailored supplements for menopause support.
